13 Fabulous Finds & the Neverending Style link-up

Life has been somewhat stressful lately but I’ll tell you all about it another time. For now though, I’ve just got time to share with you the 13 fabulous finds for this month…

1. Gorgeous makeup for mature skin

2. Gary Vee’s one of the greatest speeches ever

3. PS CBD Serum from Primark
A couple of months ago, I bought the PS CBD serum from Primark. It was on offer for something ridiculous like 2 euros at the time. And, because I don’t usually use Primark’s beauty products, I just got the one. Boy, do I wish I’d bought it all! It’s freaking amazing! The first night I used it, I woke up the next morning and my skin felt incredible—smooth and less puffy than usual. Now, the bummer is that I haven’t been able to find any since, so I wonder if it was on offer because they weren’t going to produce any more? If you see it, buy it. It’s amazing stuff!

4. The White Princess on Netflix

I was totally hooked on this series. It’s a few years old, with Jodie Comer in the leading role. She was simply spectacular. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it. It’s all about the life of Elizabeth of York during the Tudor period.

5. The Spanish Princess on Netflix

I can also highly recommend The Spanish Princess too. Michael and I were completely obsessed with this series which chronicles the life of Henry VIII’s first wife, Catherone of Aragon. Sadly, it’s only two seasons in total, but certainly worth watching.

6. The First Lady on HBOMax
I’ll admit, I haven’t finished watching this series yet, I’m only about three episodes in (I watched it while Michael was away on a motorcycling track day in Lisbon), but I think it’s quite good, despite the fact it’s hard terrible reviews. It tells the tales of several of the First Ladies of America, and features Viola Davis as Michelle Obama, Michelle Pfeiffer as Betty Ford and Gillian Andersen as Eleanor Roosevelt. From what I’ve seen so far, the acting is excellent, and it’s a fascinating look into how these remarkable women affected the lives of millions.

7. I was inspired by this YouTube video from content creator, Lynette Adkins, who explains how us bloggers / influencers / content creators should just be ourselves.

8. It was actually Leslie of Once Upon a Time Happily Ever After that shared the following video, but it resonated with me so I thought I would include it in today’s post. However, I should also note that I’m still not getting up at 5am lol!

9. Ecooking Derma Roller

I decided it’s time I started pampering my skin a bit more, now that I’m in the peri-menopausal stage of my life. So, I did some research and bought myself a derma roller (thank you, Laurie for the suggestion!). I chose the Ecooking brand because it seemed to be the best one in my price bracket. I’ve only used it once so far because it says to avoid use in the summer months. So, I will do a proper post all about it after the summer. But suffice to say, I did notice my skin was less puffy the morning after!

10. Spectrum Makeup Brushes
I actually bought these a while back but they’ve been getting so much use, and I adore them, so I figured I would mention them here too. Aren’t they cute?

11. Barry M Nude and Neutral Rich eye palette

When I bought the Derma Roller from LookFantastic (one of my favourite makeup sites), I also got a couple of other treats, one of which was the Barry M Nude and Neutral Rich eye palette. It was a bargain so I wasn’t expecting much, but when it arrived, the colours were divine, and lovely with my hazel eyes. I’ve been using it every day since.

12. Steampunk homeware on Kinky Angel

If you’ve been following my journey for a while, you may know that I’ve always been a bit of a closet goth and I adore everything magical, Victorian, witchy, dark and mysterious. So, another site I love browsing is the Kinky Angel. I know it sounds a bit naughty (and they do have some naughty stuff too!), but they also stock some gorgeous steampunk, and goth, etc things to wear and for the home. I’m linking to their steampunk homeware here because I hadn’t seen it before and it’s just so damn cool!

13. Get rid of negative emotion instantly
I loved this little video from David JP Philips on TikTok. It’s such a simple hack to make you feel instantly better, I just HAD to share it with you…

And that’s it. That’s my 13 fabulous finds for this month. I hope you’ll find something here to entertain you. I’m sorry I’ve been a bit distant from the blog and Instagram lately. We’re dealing with some personal family problems that I can’t talk about right now. But hopefully, I’ll be able to get back to my normal schedule by the end of August. If you’re missing my content (!), I have been using TikTok as stress relief though…in other words, lots of extreme silliness to take my mind of things! Now let’s get on with the Neverending Style link-up! Please link up anything and everything! See you soon!

I love these, Suzy! I loved the books by Philippa Gregory about the White Queen and the Red Queen. I wonder if these series are based upon those? I’ll have to check them out! I watched that video of Leslie’s, too. And, I’m not getting up at 5:00 either! But, I have been trying some of the ideas. I will definitely try to remember to look up, too! I definitely need it right now! Thanks for the link party!

I appreciated Lynette Adkins video. I think she’s correct about authenticity. So many look at others on social media and see this “perfection” that may be enviable, but isn’t reality. Everyone has challenges.

  7. Hi Suzy!
I have been adding a few new products to my skin care regime. My doc prescribed Tretinoin, which is a Retin-A and have been using it nightly. I have seen the model and makeup artist in the first bit, rather pretty and natural looking! love it. I will have to check out the show about Catherine, sounds interesting. I used to love watching The Tudors and was sad when it was over!
    Thanks for the suggestions!
Have a great weekend. Hope all is well.

Life gets busy and sometimes stressful. Take the time you need for those things. The steampunk things remind me of a movie but I can’t think of the name right now.

  10. I am going to try to look up when I feel negative emotions (luckily not often). I hope I will be pleasantly surprised.
In the meantime wishing you strength with the family problems.
