A green and black top and my new camera

Sorry I didn’t get the chance to post earlier this week. Time just seems to be moving so fast at the moment and I guess I’ve just been a busy little bee lol. I actually had a bit of a social life last week YAY! Not only did I go out for lunch for a wonderful new friend on Friday, but I also had an evening with a few other fabulous girlfriends on Saturday (when I wore this green and black top). I’ve been having lots and lots of laughs which are the best, right?

I’ve also got the most amazing new camera, which is what is taking up a lot of my time at the moment (learning how to use it, that is lol!). It’s an absolute beast of a machine! I’ve gone from having an entry level Nikon to having a professional one and it’s quite complicated to get the hang of. Not only that, but my remote control doesn’t work with it so I either have to use the Snapbridge app or the Intervalometer.

Before I went over to my neighbour’s for our girl’s night in on Saturday, I had a very quick go using the intervalometer to take these photos. Most of them are out of focus, and I didn’t have time to re-do them, so I’ll just share a few here anyway. I’m sure you won’t mind lol. It’s not the crappy photos (!) with the weird poses I want to show you, but the outfit anyway lol!

I adore this green and black top, which was a Christmas present from my in-laws. It’s incredibly comfortable, and just happens to be in my favourite colour. This is actually the first time I’ve worn it but I’m sure it’s going to get worn to death! Although the weather is so peculiar at the moment, I’m not sure it’s warm enough to wear in the evening again. Considering it’s almost July, it’s been so cold. I’ve actually been wearing a jumper and socks in the evening whilst watching the telly. So weird 🙁

Anyway, the past couple of days I’ve been working on my photography art, which is both fun and frustrating, because my ‘photoshop’ skills aren’t as good as I wish they were. So I’ve been watching lots of tutorials and practising. I’m getting there exceedingly slowly, but still…it’s happening lol. I’ve decided to post my photography art to my other blog though, so if you are interested, please follow me over there at www.suzyturner.com (also on Instagram as suzyturner).

Hopefully, I’ll be back with decent photos again on Friday, provided I’ve worked out the focus by then lol! If not, it might well be another epic style moments on screen post LOL. Watch this space!

Beautiful little top and perfect for an evening out. Our weather has been a little strange here with this morning low of 13 C which is wonderful so I am sitting on the porch reading blogs. Good luck with the new camera: I still need to get better with mine and actually take it out and use it! I have a Sony 6000 which takes great pictures but I am lazy and use my phone all the time.

You have my utmost respect Suzy for getting a pro camera! They are so complicated! I had one a few years ago and did a Canon course, but I never felt happy with it. My husband has a decent camera and I often think I should get back in the saddle and try it out. I also wonder about getting an Olympus Pen, but I do fewer flatlays and beauty shoots than I used to.

Love the cute leopardy top, I can see why it would become a favourite! The weather is peculiar everywhere it seems. This week it was so cold in the UK I was wearing 3 layers indoors yesterday and had to get blankets out because the summer duvet was too cold. Fortunately the sun has returned today but it’s still not very hot xx

They are still beautiful photos. I find getting new camera’s so confusing! I’m still getting the hang of my filming one and I’ve had that for two years! xx

A new camera is exciting but it does take work to figure it out.
The top is so pretty with that lace detail.

    Suzy,

Baby steps are still progress. Developing your photographic skills takes time and even more so I think if you’re doing self-photography. But it’s all fun and good for keeping you out of trouble, ay?

Great outfit! The green top is definitely the star, but not over the top. I really like it! And so easy to dress up with different shoes and a cardigan/blazer.

And again the in-laws… My my, you are one spoiled daughter-in-law. It is a lovely top, you are right.
I have been thinking about a new camera for years now, but the thing is, I have a Samsung and they have stopped making cameras. But… the investment in 3 lenses is a big investment, so switching to another camera is costly. Plus, it works like a phone as in digital screen, swiping and making photos bigger or smaller with your fingers. All these things are real assets to me and will not be on any other camera. They all could have implemented this technique of course, but no, if you want to see whether a photo you took, is sharp you have to go through a series of handlings. Too annoying for me. Besides, it is the person behind the camera that does it and I suck at taking photos haha.

PS I have been really busy with my offline social life as well, so I haven’t been able to visit your blog. So sorry.

Camera sounds amazing, I’m still trying to get to grips with mine! I’m being told many different things about settings etc – need a proper course I think. Thanks for sharing have fun with the girls. Jacqui x
