An easy way to wear camo, black and cream

camo, black and cream

I love it when an outfit just comes together with very little thought. I was going grocery shopping the other day (the height of my social life at the moment) and decided to forgo the usual skinny jeans and wear my ankle-skimming camo trousers. Although I first put on the cream shirt I often wear with them, I ended up switching it out for a short black shirt instead. I added my cream and khaki cardigan and then hopped about in front of the mirror wearing one black trainer and one cream one! However, the cream ones had the edge. It all resulted in this camo, black and cream outfit.

My black Kipling bumbag seemed like the perfect accessory, as I much prefer to be hands-free when shopping, so off I went for a couple of hours of weekly entertainment in the supermarket. Apparently, in the next day or two, restaurants here in the Portugal will begin to re-open, only for outdoor eating and drinking—but it’s still a big thing. It seems like such a long time since we could eat out. Luckily the weather is changing and the day-time temperatures are good enough to sit outside for lunch. I wouldn’t fancy being outside for dinner though. Evenings are still very chilly.

I can’t wait until we are able to get all dolled up again to go out for proper evenings out and weekends away. Fingers crossed we can get over Covid soon and life can return to normal again. Although I keep hearing that numbers are rising once more. Will it ever end? But that’s not what this post is about. It’s about an easy way to wear camo, black and cream…

Camo can come in many different colours, although the classic is usually khaki, greens, beiges/creams and black. My camo trousers definitely come under this classic description. The other great thing about camo is that you can usually wear it with pretty much any colour. I could have added bright pink, red, orange or blue, for example. But I decided to keep it simple, mainly because I knew I wanted to wear this cream and khaki cardigan (from Parfois a couple of years ago). Surprisingly, you can also wear camo with other prints. I’ve worn these trousers with animal print too, and it looks fab!

I bought these camo trousers a few years ago, from Bershka and the little black shirt from Pull & Bear. The trainers are Nike Airs that I bought from the Nike outlet shop in Faro, and even though they’re rather hard, they’re quite comfortable. I’m also wearing my fabulous black Citizen watch and earrings from Happy Ginger.

Do you love camo as much as I do? How do you wear it?

Own a camo skirt, trousers and a sleeveless vest. They are worn together! 🙂 The skirt and trousers are my most worn items. So versatile. Love your outfit obviously.

  2. Lise says:

That should say they are NOT worn together, ha-ha.

    • Suzy says:

LOL Lise! I think you should wear them all together and see what it looks like!!! (Only joking!!)

  3. Sorry, cannot say anything about this outfit as I absolutely hate camo. Just a personal taste, nothing to do with you or how you look, you get that, don’t you?

I totally get that, Greetje! There are prints that I’m not keen on too, although I can’t think what they are, right now lol!

I have a love/hate relationship with Cameo. It’s a bit too military for me. Yet I love it on other people. I try it on and then take it off. I do like the pattern and have a chenille sweater in grey , white and salmon colors that I wear frequently.
    It looks good on you

    • Suzy says:

Bonnie, you’re not alone. It seems quite a lot of people aren’t keen on it. I’m not even sure why I love it so much lol!

The best outfits are the ones we don’t think about! The cardigan looks great on it! The high light of my weeks are working out at the gym! Oh gosh, I wished we could go out again. How is it going with vaccinations over there Suzy?

    • Suzy says:

You’re good, going to work out at the gym, Nancy!! The vaccinations over here are incredibly slow. I have no idea when it will reach us. But at least I just heard that the shops and restaurants are going to be opening soon YAY!!

  9. Super cute errand running outfit, Suzy! I do love camo as much as you do and have at least a half dozen different pairs of camo pants! I laughed about you hopping around in front of your mirror wearing two different shoes just like I do! Haha. The cream trainers really look cool with this outfit. And I love the photos! Thanks for linking with me!

Thanks Shelbee! It’s a bit of a boring look, but I guess we can’t always share the super fun ones lol! Although I am excited to see what the next Style Imitating Art inspiration will be!!
