Candy Crush Style with the Fab40s

Of all the themes in all the world and Mireille chooses the very unusual Candy Crush Style for our Fab40s theme this month! LOL But, when you see all our outfits, you’ll see that it actually turned out to be quite a fabulous theme. Not that I really knew anything Candy Crush style. All I knew was that it was a game that I believe originated on Facebook but I might be wrong so don’t quote me on that. In my usual Fab40s style, I googled it to get a better picture. Basically (as the name obviously suggests), the game is all about sweets, so the more colour, the better!

I invaded my wardrobe to find as much colour as possible. I probably have more colour in my winter wardrobe though, but it just wasn’t cool enough for that, so I pulled out the fabulous blue trousers bought from Bershka a few months ago. They’re the perfect shade of candy crush blue—fun and bright. The kind of colour that just makes me smile 🙂

I knew I wanted something bright and beautiful on top—orange or pink, perhaps? I soon settled on this very old pink Zara vest top (which, I believe, is from their Zara Basics collection that they have every summer season). I have it in black, blue, grey and pink because it’s so versatile. Clearly this wasn’t enough colour though, and I wanted something more. Something extra. Something bright! The yellow scarf was perfect—but way too hot to wear it anywhere near my body, so I just figured I’d wave it about in front of the camera lol!

Blue trousers, pink vest, yellow scarf. But it wasn’t enough. I needed more! Hm? I felt like I needed something over the top of the vest, but I only had warm sweaters and cardigans. And all my shirts are white, khaki and black (so BORING). So I raided Michael’s wardrobe and nicked his old purple shirt (I found it in his throw away pile—shock horror—so it’s now mine), rolled up the sleeves and tied it at the waist. Now all I needed were shoes. Unfortunately, with these very long trousers, I had to wear heels. And after my recent toe breaking escapades, wearing heels was not exactly high on my agenda. But perhaps I’d be ok for a few photos?

So I grabbed my brightest, most colourful, pair and headed outside to take some photos before I crippled my foot completely :/ (I’m such a drama queen, I know lol). My poor little toe is slowly healing, but I really should avoid squeezing it into high heels, at least for another month or so! I forgot to mention the other accessories, didn’t I? I think you know what I’m going to say though, right? Jewellery and handbag were gifts from my Mother-in-Law!

I finished off the look by wearing as many brightly coloured scrunchies in my hair as physically possible, because, well…why not?

Right, that’s enough about my Candy Crush Style outfit, let’s see how the other Fab40s gals styled this sweet theme… By the way, Ada is taking a break for a few months but she’ll be back soon!

Daenel, Living Outside the Stacks

Candy Crush Style

Daenel is absolutely rocking the Candy Crush style theme with THE most beautiful dress/kimono over the top of blue jeans. As is usually the case, I would wear this whole outfit in a heartbeat! I love the beautiful colours, the accessories and most of all, the hint of a bare midriff. Gorgeous!

Mireille, of Chez Mireille

Candy Crush Style

I adore the photo of Mireille, deep in thought as she plays Candy Crush on her mobile phone! This outfit screams Candy Crush style, right? I’m so in love with how she tied in the colourful bracelets with the stripes of the stunner of a dress—or is it a skirt? You’ll just have to pop on over to her blog to find out! Beautiful, Mireille! And such a fun theme!

Shelbee, Shelbee on the Edge

Candy Crush Style

Shelbee looks as though she’s just stepped off the pages of Vogue magazine! I love this shot of her in her colourful Candy Crush outfit. The colours, the pose, the location—it all screams STYLE to me! I always love Shelbee’s creativity in her outfits. She has such a fabulous eye for colour and prints and the addition of this textured bag is the icing on the cake! I love it!

And me…with my scarf prop lol! I really had fun with this theme and I can’t wait to see what’s next! Oh wait…I’m choosing the next one lol. Oooh….let’s see if I can top Mireille’s fun-loving Candy Crush Style theme! Be sure to come back next month to find out!

  1. Suzy, I love this colorful blocking of bright hues to create the perfect Candy Crush outfit! And waving your yellow scarf was a brilliant idea! I ended up shedding all of my scarves after photos and just wore the dress by itself for the rest of the day. This was a super fun theme! I love that you scored that purple top from Michael’s throw away pile, too! I am looking forward to what theme you choose!

It sure is fun to get more creative with my closet. Love how well all these colors compliment each other to create a stunning look.

You absolutely nailed it, Suzy. Love the fact that you were not afraid of mixing multiple strong hues into a single look but you look great.
