The Burberry shirt I found in a thrift shop | Link-up

Last year, whilst perusing the rails in a local thrift shop, I stumbled across a pretty plaid top which I soon realised was actually a Burberry shirt. I couldn’t believe my luck, especially when I picked it up for an absolute steal. I can’t remember exactly how much I paid, but I think it was around the six euros mark. What a result!

I didn’t even try it on, I just brought it home with me. Would you believe this is actually the very first time I’m wearing it? The fit is absolute perfection on me, like it was made to measure. The only thing I thought was a bit odd is the fact that it has cufflinks, as opposed to buttons. It took me a little while to figure out how to close the cuffs though lol!

But here it is in all it’s glory. Okay, perhaps not all its glory, because I’m covering most of it up with a sweater. I love the collar and thought wearing a sweater over the top really shows it off, especially the way I’ve jazzed it up with a fancy necklace. It just gives the whole look that extra je ne sais quoi.

As for the rest of the outfit, I was in the mood for loose fitting jeans, so I popped on my wide, high jeans from H&M, and added my latest pair of chunky black boots from Stradivarius, alongside the big burgundy handbag I received from Knomo London a few years ago. It’s actually a laptop bag, but I just loved tying all the colour together with it. The sweater is rather old, and most of the jewellery is inherited (apart from my fabulous claw ring that I bought myself a couple of years ago).

And that’s how I styled my Burberry shirt. A simple, but fun look. It’s actually probably one of my favourite go-to styles at the moment. A shirt with a sweater over the top, with the shirt ‘tails’ sticking out the bottom. My last link-up featured a funky blue shirt in a similar style, only with a sleeveless sweater (tank top) instead. Today, I’m wearing the same style with an oversized sweater, a huge shirt and wide-legged black trousers which I’ll show you next week.

In the meantime, did you check out my latest YouTube videos? Last week I shared my daily beauty and make-up routine, and today I’ve shared how I deal with a puffy face in the morning. Curious? Check it out on YouTube. Have a fabulous weekend!

What a find! Isn’t awesome when you find such an amazing piece for next to nothing? To me that’s the fun of thrifting. It’s like a treasure hunt. I love that shade of burgundy. The necklace is a perfect choice. It’s a marvelous outfit, Suzy!

The necklace really draws attention to the collar. Since I do not enjoy wearing button down, I have really enjoyed the little shirttails I shared on IG and on my blog recently. I get the look with a whole shirt. Isn’t it fun to find something unexpected when thrifting?

  5. What a fabulous find, Suzy! I love the colors of the shirt and the collar is super fun! The sweater does showcase both the exaggerated collar and the gorgeous colors in the tartan. I am loving the loose jeans and chunky shoes combination, too. Very cute look, my friend!

  9. What a terrific find. Not sure I have seen a shirt sold with cuff links – especially for women. Kind of cool. You look very pretty in those purple-berry colors. Very pretty against your complexion. And I love your hair. Always thought you had the best hair. Mine is growing very quickly these days…not sure what’s up with that. But I have been going for more regular haircuts. Maybe that has something to do with it? Thank you for joining the Ageless Style gals.
