Floating on air with the Fab40s

For the past few months, the Fab40s have been styling the elements. We’ve styled outfits inspired by water, earth, fire and today I’m super excited to be quite literally floating on air…

I had absolutely no idea how I would style the air element. I mean, what does air look like? It’s transparent, we can’t actually see it! So I did what I usually do and I Googled it lol. It turns out that air has colours associated with it and yellow and grey were two that popped out at me. Probably because I’ve been waiting for the perfect chance to wear these fabulous yellow trousers that I bought from Zara last year.

Aren’t they to die for? I spotted them on Zara’s online store during their summer sales and knew I had to have them. Unfortunately, they’re WAY too long for me, so I can only wear them with very high heels, and I don’t really do very high heels anymore. I do, however, have a couple of pairs of shoes that have nice high wedges / platforms. One such pair are my Jimmy Choos that Michael bought for me a couple of years ago (that I still haven’t had the chance to wear out. Thanks Covid). They’re perfect with the yellow trousers, which are pleated so I really don’t want to try and hem them myself. I’d probably make a mess of them!

Anyway, I tried a couple of different grey tops but I quite liked the simplicity of this vest, which is also from Zara come to think of it. It’s very old though, but super practical. I have it in blue, black and pink as well! I added a yellow necklace (a gift from mother-in-law a few years ago) and that was it: my floating on air outfit. It’s simple but elegant and a little floaty to represent air. I bet you’re very curious to see how the other Fab40s gals styled this theme? So let’s have a look…

Ada, Elegance and Mommyhood

Ada looks super cute in the most adorable little flared dress and black shoes. It’s such a girlie outfit and suits her down to perfection. I love it!

Daenel, Living Outside the Stacks

OMG Daenel is a total goddess, right?! I don’t even have the words to describe how in love with this look I am. I want to be her, I want to look like her but most of all, I want to grab my camera and go and photograph her! Daenel…sigh, I just LOVE this so much!

Mireille, Chez Mireille

Mireille looks like a supermodel in the first picture! I absolutely love it! And the second photo is utter perfection to show off the detail in those fabulous sleeves, which suit the floating on air theme perfectly! Gorgeous!

Shelbee, Shelbee on the Edge

Shelbee, the boho queen here is just oozing airiness! I adore all that gorgeous tie-dye and the floatiness of it all is simply beautiful, not to mention the actual photo surrounded by all that air! LOVE IT!

And me…in my grey and yellow look as I’m floating on air…

That picture of you is so freaking creative!! Like I said in our email, total Mary Poppins vibes. Love love love it.

This was, by far the hardest of the themes, but also the most fun. I didn’t know there were colors associated with air {bad librarian, didn’t even google it}. I thought in terms of movement and thought the paisley represented it well. I love the color pairing and am totally ga ga over those trousers. They’re just Wow!

  7. Love that first picture, so cool! I was going to say a modern Mary Poppins Lol!
Those pants are dramatic and fabulous on you as are those shoes! wow@ Those are beautiful.
