If you’re looking for ways to make your outfit ‘pop’, then you can’t go wrong by adding a kimono. And, in my view, the more colourful, the better! Here, I’m showing you four ways to wear a kimono. This post was inspired by Chez Mireille, who was inspired by This Blonde’s Shopping Bag!
This is probably my favourite look. It’s boho-chic at its best. Flared jeans with a black vest and a pair of comfortable, yet stylish, sandals make it the perfect outfit for a festival.

Jeans – Stradivarius
Vest – Zara
Bag – gift from MIL
A dress underneath a kimono is especially good if you love the dress but, for whatever reason, feel a little self conscious in it (especially if it’s a bodycon dress!). I’ve got a few dresses that really hug my curves but I often feel like I just need a little something to give me that little extra coverage. A kimono just makes me feel more comfortable. Not to mention the fact that it makes a real style statement too!
Outfit Details:
Dress – Desigual
Shoes – Replay
You might not think to wear such wide-legged jeans (or trousers) with such a loose-fitting kimono, but it does work. You could easily dress this look up with a much dressier pair of shoes, but a casual pair of trainers and a plain top make this look suitable for everyday occasions.
Outfit Details:
Orange top – Zara (current)
Lilac jeans – H&M (current)
Trainers – Ecco (this style are always available)
Bag – Zara
Necklace – Gift from MIL
Watch – Michael Kors
I love this look. It’s semi-casual with simple skinny jeans and vest, yet the addition of the beautiful, bright kimono, just takes the look up a notch. Adding a pair of statement wedges also gives the outfit a boost.

Jeans – Tiffosi
Shoes – Aldo
Vest – Intimissimmi
Feathered Bag & Jewellery – gifts from MIL
And there you have it — four ways to wear a kimono. I did actually have a fifth outfit ready to style and photograph, but I’ll have to show you that another day (I decided to just chill out on Sunday instead!)! Another great way to style a kimono is to wear it over a pair of shorts, but I’m not quite ready to get my shorts out just yet lol. Maybe next month? 😉

Yes, I liked it. I have a linen coat which is more like a very long jacket. In my wardrobe for years and never been worn. I finally styled it with wide trousers and it looked really good. Like you did with yours.
