Hey there, fabulous friends! I can’t wait to share the incredible experience I had last weekend at a candlelight classical concert, where I rocked my stunning Zara dress while grooving to the iconic music of Queen. The melodies were pure magic, and I couldn’t resist swaying to classics like “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Don’t Stop Me Now.” But before we dive into the melodies, let’s talk about the fashion – this Zara dress was a true show-stopper (well…in my eyes anyway!). Before I go on, I should add that I didn’t take any photos at the concert because I just wanted to immerse myself in the experience without worrying about pictures. Also talking about pictures, we only took a few photos of my outfit on a rather boring street before dinner…and then we ran out of time afterwards DOH!
Picture this: a couple of weeks ago, I stumbled upon this drop-dead gorgeous Zara dress, and it was a total fashion jackpot! The moment I slipped into it, I knew it was meant for me. The dress hugged my curves in all the right places, and the gentle flare added a touch of elegance. The best part? I scored this beauty for just 35 euros during a sale, a steal compared to its original price of 70 euros. Fashion win, am I right?
As someone who values both style and comfort, I paired the dress with chic cream trainers from Ecco, which I don’t actually wear very often. Not only did they add a laid-back vibe to my ensemble, but they also ensured my feet stayed happy throughout the entire evening. Nothing beats dancing to Queen’s tunes without worrying about sore feet. Not that we were dancing, to be honest. We all had seats and had to stay put!
You know me, always prepared for those unexpected evening breezes. That’s why I brought along my trusty denim jacket to the concert. It’s a classic piece that never goes out of style and effortlessly adds that cool factor to any outfit. Talk about versatility. Although, in hindsight, I might have been more comfy with a warmer cardie lol. And I forgot to take any pics with the jacket!
Now, let’s talk about the concert – it was rather an enchanting experience. The candlelit venue set the perfect mood, and when the musicians started playing Queen’s hits with a classical twist, it felt like music from a dream. The fusion of classical instruments and Queen’s timeless melodies was nothing short of magical. My musician friend who came with us, commented that it would have been better had there been more sound equipment to elevate it to a higher standard, but it wasn’t too bad. The performances were fabulous, with my favourite being Who Wants to Live Forever. I’ve always adored that song (I was a bit obsessed with Highlander when I was young lol) so it was an absolute dream to hear it performed with violins and cello.
Though the venue was jam-packed, the mesmerizing music and the joy of sharing the experience with friends made it an unforgettable night. And throughout it all, I felt like super elegant in my Zara dress. In fact, I’m looking forward to wearing it again soon. I wonder if I can find a way to make it work when it gets cold here? Hm? I shall have to think about that!
After the concert, we strolled through the lively streets of Lagos, and would you believe it? The evening got unexpectedly chilly! But I was prepared, and we indulged in some delightful vegan coconut ice cream, the perfect way to cap off the night.
So what have you been up to lately? Anything exciting? I hope you’ll share all in the Neverending Style link-up, below. I have to say that I’m so sorry I missed it last week. I know I had a little blogging break but I didn’t intend not to do it last week too! I guess I just ran out of time! So, on with the link-up! See you next week, my friends!
That dress is made for you! It’s stunning. And I actually love that you show photos in a boring street because that is real life! Thanks for hosting. Btw, who wants to live forever always makes me cry. So emotional.
Thanks Nancy!! I get really emotional when I hear the song too! But it’s so beautiful <3

Suzy, Suzy, Suzy!!! You are simply gorgeous in this dress! I love it with those sneakers, too! I bet you could wear it when it’s colder with high boots, too! I can’t imagine hearing Queen’s music played orchestrally! I think that would be the next best thing to actually hearing Freddie Mercury singing! Thanks so much, my friend, for the link up!
