My bestie let me do her makeup whilst drunk | link-up

Every now and again, my bestie comes to stay and we generally get up to no good. We usually start the day at the local shopping centre where we’ll have coffee and a good natter, followed by a few hours perusing all the shops. Then we’ll head back home to watch movies, eat chocolates and crisps and drink beer and wine! We have a lot of fun just hanging out, being crazy forty-somethings. Michael is usually around in the evening so he’ll often watch a movie with us. This week though, he decided to go out with a pal, so we thought we’d do something different, which is when my bestie let me do her makeup whilst drunk!

My bestie is called Sarah. I’ve talked about her before. She’s a bit of a nutcase, although she’s really calm in this video lol. It’s most unlike her! We did have a giggle though…this was after a couple of beers in the afternoon, and a bottle of white wine with dinner! She can take way more alcohol than I can, which is probably why she’s a bit less giggly than me. It was enormous fun to do her makeup, and considering I had drunk a fair amount, I’m surprised how well it came out! I wish the lighting was better in my cloffice (closet / office) but I guess that just added to the silliness.

Have you ever done anything silly like this? I mean since you’ve been over forty? It’s so important to stay silly as you grow older, and I know sometimes I do forget that. But Sarah certainly helps ;). I took a few photos afterwards as well, most didn’t turn out that great because of the lighting (it had nothing to do with the fact that I was drunk of course!), but a few are pretty good!

Sounds like a lot of fun! I haven’t hung out and been silly with a friend in quiet a while but I have enjoyed getting together with different girlfriends this past year. It is so nice to get together and talk and get away from our busy lives!

  2. Suzy, that was so much fun to watch! You and Sarah are hilarious! And you really did a great job doing drunk makeup! Sarah’s hair is absolutely stunning. I am so glad that you un-plaited it and showed us! I want to come be silly with you both!

Awwww thanks Shelbee! We always have so much fun together. She’s a laugh a minute, Sarah is. I think you two would get on well!
      Big hugs xx

Ha! What fun! I agree, silliness is important at any age. And yes, I’ve continued to be silly every chance I get. You should have been at my wedding reception which I lovingly refer to as the after party. It lasted two days. But I try to inject a little silliness into most days.

Love this, great fun! I haven’t done anything like this for years, which is quite sad! But my friends and lovely sister-in-law Sarah all live so far away. Thanks for linking xx

Your title for this post really caught my eye! What fun to have a best friend that you can hang out with and just be relaxed and silly. Your makeup photo with the feathers is really quite glamorous!

  6. I used to be very silly in high school and I miss that side of me! I can def. still be silly at times, but sometimes I think my family doesn’t have the energy to keep up with it! Ha, ha! But, I agree… that is why we have our girlfriends, somehow they just get us, goofiness and all! 🙂
