How to add interest to a white shirt | Link-Up

Are you surprised to see me in yet another white shirt? I seem to have found my own personal style over the past few months and I’ve been showing you over these past few posts (Styling a Retro Shirt | Styling a Burberry Shirt | Wide-Fit White Shirt)…and it’s all about the shirt. I’ve always been very fond of wearing shirts, but I hadn’t realised just how well they work for me, especially with my short pixie cut.

Today, I’m wearing a new white shirt that I purchased from H&M in the recent sales. I like that the collar is a little larger than the norm; I guess that’s a bit of a nod to what? The seventies? I’m wearing it beneath my black Benetton wool sweater (my second one because I accidentally shrunk the first), and with wide-fitting black and white trousers, from last year’s winter sale in Zara. The look is finished off with a pair of chunky white trainers, a statement necklace—a gift from an old friend a few years ago and a Desigual handbag.

Just like the last few posts, I love the final look. I really feel like me in this get-up. There are a few tweaks here and there that I like to do, just to add a bit of interest, and that’s making sure the shirt sleeves poke out the end of the sweater, as well as the shirt tails poking out the bottom. I think it makes the look a bit more interesting than if you could just see the collar. And adding a chunky / statement necklace really adds another element to make you stand out…just a little bit.

I have no idea what I’ll be wearing for my next post, but perhaps I ought to give the shirts a bit of a break lol?! Although, the next outfit is for our Songful Style challenge on Monday…so watch this space! What have you been up to recently? I’d love you to link up all your fabulous posts! And if you’re on TikTok, please come on over and give me a follow. I’d love to see you there where it’s all fun and games 😉

Gurl…if it works, keep doing it!!! I love this look and your short pixie hair!! How I wish I could wear that! I do like those wide collars on your white shirt. I remember when the collars were almost like wings!! But, I guess that’s dating me, right? Thanks so much for the link party!

There is nothing more beautiful than a woman who has found her personal style and rocks it. This outfit looks amazing on you. I love the Zara slacks with the black sweater and white shirt. These two pieces pull out both colors in the slacks and the effect is fabulous.

This is such a great look! It was one of my favourites when I used to wear black. The contrast between black and white, and the gamine collar, are lovely. Thanks for linking xx

  6. Love this outfit. Black and white have always been my favourites. It is so classy. Your trousers make me regret I gave similar ones away.

  7. You’ve never looked perkier, prettier or more put together. I love this look. From the crisp white collar peeking out of your sweater to the bright white tennies peeking from under those patterned trousers. Perfection personified. Great glasses, smashing hair, too!!
