Emerald green. Sigh. It’s my favourite colour. Isn’t it the most beautiful colour on the planet? When I bought these wide-legged trousers a few years ago, I couldn’t believe my luck. My favourite colour. My favourite shape. And super comfortable on account of the lovely soft fabric. It’s kind of like a soft cord-like material. I just adore them. And, if you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that already lol. They do feature on the blog quite a bit!
A couple of years ago, I found this blouse in the exact same colour in Stradivarius. Obviously, I snapped it up. (I also bought it in bright red.) The idea to wear the two together had crossed my mind a few times, but I figured it might just be a little too much green. But then last week, I suddenly thought, can you ever have too much green— especially emerald green? Hm? No, nope you can’t. So I gave it a try.
This is the result, and I absolutely love it! I think the addition of the gold bumbag and sparkly gold Vans trainers just breaks it up enough to be less Christmassy, and more stylish, if you know what I mean? Although, some of you are probably thinking—gold? And sparkle? Surely that’s totally festive? Well, yes, I suppose there is that. But you know what? I don’t care! It’s emerald green from head to toe and I’m going to rock it baby! Sorry, got a bit carried away there.
I’ve added hints of pink and lilac, both of which are the most beautiful colours to complement the emerald green. The lilac gel nail polish came in the Mylee kit that I bought last year. It’s pretty, isn’t it? And the gorgeous pink Michael Kors watch was my birthday present from my in-laws last year. Speaking of my in-laws, Jackie also gave me this green and purple bangle and this stunning abalone shell necklace which she’d bought for herself but hadn’t liked! I couldn’t believe it, because it’s exquisite! How can you not like it? The earrings I actually bought myself, I can’t remember where from but I liked them so much that I got them in three different colours lol!
I was just reading up about emerald green and stumbled across this quote:
The most abundant hue in nature, the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum as it has throughout history, multifaceted emerald continues to sparkle and fascinate. Symbolically, emerald brings a sense of clarity, renewal and rejuvenation, which is so important in today’s complex world. This powerful and universally-appealing tone translates easily to both fashion and home interiors.

I couldn’t agree more. Emerald green in the home can be stunning too, and I particularly love it when it’s teamed with gold. Add in some hints of art deco, and I’m all aflutter! It’s probably my all time favourite look, and I can’t wait until our new house is finally built so I can have my dream art deco green and gold dining room lol! But, alas, I shall have to wait even longer because we’re still waiting on paperwork before we can even start. Oh well, I’ll just have to settle on wearing it. Emerald green and gold. Actually, maybe I ought to make that my next mission? Find some art deco inspired clothes in green and gold. Hm. Now there’s an idea…

The colour is gorgeous on you Suzy. And the wide-leg trousers are the big new trend. My favourite style too xx
Thanks Laurie! I think I love them because they remind me of the clothes worn a century ago. I adored the styles back then!

Suzy, you know I am loving every bit about this gorgeous green outfit! I have been obsessed with green, especially emerald green, for my entire life. I think my green eyes and the fact that emerald is my birth stone have contributed to my passionate adoration for all things green! I really like the gold paired with the green and your Vans are magnificent!

Shelbee, I just KNEW that you would love this outfit as much as I do! How amazing is it that your birth stone is emerald! That’s so cool! I was born on Boxing Day and so my birth stone is so much more boring lol. I can’t even remember what it’s called. Hang on…. must have a look… here we go – Tanzanite, Zircon, and Turquoise. They’re okay, I guess, but they’re not on the same level!!!
Big hugs
Suzy xx
Well that’s because no other gem stone is on the same level as emeralds! Just no other color is nearly as good as green! Haha.

Gorgeous!!! Clearly you’ve shown why there’s no need to fear green. How refreshing it is to see you wearing this color so boldly and styled so perfectly with those sprinkled accents of gold and pastels. Well done.

Those trousers are looking Fabulous and the color looks very very good on you. I have lilac nails too now! It really works with the green doesn’t it. I bought a lilac skirt and yesterday searched for green sneakers underneath. Enjoy your Sunday!
Oooh Nancy, I love the idea of the green sneakers! Did you find any??

Emerald green is one of my favourite colours too! I thought you were wearing a jumpsuit at first, the blouse is such a good colour match for the trousers. I love the gold accents and your gorgeous necklace.

I actually thought it was a jumpsuit at first. It is a beautiful color! I have one emeral sleeveless blouse that I can’t wait to wear. Color, color!

You’re the second person to think that, Mireille! I guess it could easily have been a jumpsuit, considering the colour match!
I shall look forward to seeing your emerald blouse on your blog!

Hi Suzy, what a stunning colour! I loved reading your story on mummabstylish today! I have joined in your link-up. Love Michelle xx
Such a great outfit. The emeralds together have a jumpsuit feel. Love it. When I was a teen, I had a green wool suit that I always wore with a lavender blouse. It was my favorite combination. I love seeing it in deeper tones. Beautiful.
I totally agree, that emerald green is SO gorgeous! I love the wide-leg cords! Such a fun piece.
Miles of smiles,
